One of my favorite corners in our barn office is home to this antique drafting table, also known as an architect’s table.
Forever an artist, its original purpose, combined with years of use and talent from its previous Owner attracted me. I was in need of a kitchen table at the time and a fan of antiques, I found this piece in an unexpected place. This table has unique backstory; one I love sharing.
If this table could talk, it would say:
- “I’m an antique, picked up on the side of the road by my current owner for $50.”
- “My previous Owner was an artist and used me to draw a TIME Magazine cover many years ago. It was a portrait of Pope John Paul II.”
- “Before you had computers and CAD to draw plans, architects and designers used me to draw plans and blueprints.”
