Built in the 1980s and inspired by the timeless work of Royal Barry Willis, this Westwood Cape blends classic New England charm with thoughtful modern updates.

In this whole-home remodel, we touched nearly every square foot — reimagining the first floor to better support the way this family lives today.

The kitchen, dining room, living room, office/guest room, and bathroom were all redesigned with improved flow, elevated finishes, and a cohesive aesthetic that honors the home’s original character.

This 1880 farmhouse has been home to a growing family who loves their neighborhood so much, even as their needs have outgrown the space. Over the years, they’ve made thoughtful updates, but now it’s time for their dream renovation.

Our team was brought in to reimagine the home and design a plan that works for today’s family life, adding a garage, primary suite, expanded kitchen, mudroom, and powder room, while also updating the existing full bath.

The result will honor the farmhouse’s history while creating the function and flow this family has been missing.

Our #2 top post of the year looked back on a milestone that shaped our business—our work anniversary. I think it struck a chord because it shared the path that brought us here, long before the finished spaces and final photos. Thank you for supporting our business and therefore our family. It means the world to us. ❤️

It’s back-to-school week, which also marks a special milestone for us. Although Jason has been in the industry for more than 30 years, we’ve now spent seven years working together as a husband and wife team.

Jason has been in the industry since 1993, starting on a framing crew, moving into finish carpentry, and eventually launching what is now J.P. Hoffman Design Build.

I (Megan) left a decade+ long career in the non-profit world to join the family business, on the very same day our oldest started kindergarten and our youngest began daycare at just three months old. Needless to say, this week has always carried extra meaning for our family.

Since then, we’ve grown a business built on integrity, creativity, and craftsmanship. We’ve learned, adapted, celebrated, and leaned on the support of our clients, team, and community along the way.

Whether you’re a client, follower, or friend, thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to a great year ahead, whether at school, at work, at home, newly retired, or wherever this season finds you. ❤️

Our #3 top post wasn’t a renovation at all—it was a September recap highlighting a National Park trip through Montana and Canada. That trip still comes up in conversation, and we’re always dreaming of a return to the Canadian Rockies.

September gave us a little bit of everything—rest, adventure, celebrations, and meaningful work.

We started the month with a dream trip to Glacier National Park in Montana and Banff/Jasper in the Canadian Rockies. The beauty of those landscapes left us inspired and recharged. Just see the photos! (If you’ve been, or are planning to go, we’d love to swap recommendations!)

Back home, September was full of milestones—birthdays, anniversaries, and the exciting flow of wrapping up projects while starting new ones. It’s in those transitions that we’re reminded how fortunate we are to do this work.
