Bathroom of the Week Feature on Houzz – Spa Feel with Marble and Airy layout

2022-07-27T16:16:56-04:00

We're honored once again, to have been selected by the Editors at Houzz.com as a Bathroom of the Week feature! Coincidently, we wrote about last year's highlight, exactly one year ago today, on July 27, 2021. See our Easton Primary Bathroom feature here. This time, our Luxury Primary Bathroom remodel in Needham was selected as Bathroom of the Week! Contributor Jeannie Matteucci interviewed Jason and myself to hear about our Design Build process and the inspiration behind the complete, bathroom overhaul. Unique elements help this bathroom stand out. From the large tub niche, to the scallop glass tile, and the custom designed double vanity with 100% usable storage (no faux drawers), this design stemmed from many conversations with our clients. We heard the pain points and wish list. As Jason mentioned in the interview, the caliber of this home was not meet with the previous Primary Bathroom. Our team

Classic Cohasset Kitchen Renovation

2022-05-26T14:28:54-04:00

See how this outdated Shore Shore home completely transformed into a classic, New England home, fit for the coastal, Massachusetts town of Cohasset. Our team designed and remodeled this tired and poorly laid out, stand-alone home, to a classic, modern, coastal retreat, for a wonderful couple. We are proud of this whole-home renovation. More of which can be seen in our portfolio here. This post highlights the kitchen and neighboring spaces: powder room, dining room and living room. As with all projects, once we've been hired, a design contract has been signed, and retainer collected, we get to work on the Design and Scope Development phase. We carefully measure each room and input the data into our design software. Through previous conversations, Jason notes pain points, wish list items, architectural details and future possibilities, as well as building code allowances. We're able to produce 3D renderings, sharing with our clients,

Kitchen & 1st Floor Remodel – Westwood –

2022-01-13T14:15:04-05:00

Part of a larger, whole home renovation in Westwood, this post highlights the final, first floor renovation including: kitchen, dining room and play room remodels. See progress blog posts here and here. A typical Cape style home, this house was built in 1954. Our clients purchased the home and hired us right away to re-imagine the space suitable for a growing family. In an effort to open up the floor plan, we relocated the existing downstairs bathroom, to the newly added mudroom space (more on that in a different post). This opened up the floor plan, connecting the kitchen to the 2 rooms on the 1st floor. One to be used as an office and the other, a play room. We also removed part of the wall separating the kitchen and dining room, allowing natural light to flood in from the dining room, to an otherwise, dark kitchen. We also added

Forty Under 40 Winner!

2021-10-13T14:10:21-04:00

Forty Under 40 Winner! As seen in Pro Remodeler – April/May 2021 Issue Hello! Jason here. Megan posts 95% of our social media posts but I’m taking over temporarily to highlight a very important award. I’m late to the party as this was announced in April but Megan forgets that I too have access to our blog and better late than never! Although she’s happy to have the title “under 40” near her name, Megan is uncomfortable with attention. But as the 1st person our clients connect with and a regular voice, face and advisor through our renovation process, I felt it important to highlight this well-deserved recognition. Megan has been named a 2021 Forty Under 40 Winner by Pro Remodeler, a media channel and magazine that inspires and educates businesses in the residential remodeling industry. Their annual award “celebrates

– Bathroom of the Week – Feature on Houzz

2021-07-27T14:03:04-04:00

Editors at Houzz.com recently noticed the En Suite/Primary bathroom renovation our team completed in Easton, MA, and selected it for a Bathroom of the Week feature! Contributor Jeannie Matteucci wrote of our clients: "...they wanted better storage and a more soothing, spa-like feel with elegant traditional style." With our Design Build process, our team was able to create just that. Follow the button below to read the feature and hear directly from our clients and lead designer and builder, Jason Hoffman. To me, it's similar to Pinterest, but specific to home remodeling. It's a place to find inspiration, resources and trade partners like us. Black Walnut Custom Vanity – an intro –

2021-04-16T14:04:18-04:00

Custom Powder Room Vanity We have been on the hunt for some interesting pieces of American Black Walnut for a custom bathroom vanity we're designing and building for a client in Needham. Black Walnut has always been sought after as a fine furniture wood because of it’s workability, beautiful rich color, grain movement and stability. Today, we are seeing it show up more and more in small batch cabinetry and tables. In spite of it’s enduring popularity, it makes up less than 2% of all commercially harvested lumber in America which explains its high cost per board foot. Our client has this vision, of a furniture-grade vanity, with an extra thick stone countertop and beautiful gold faucets. Along with custom wainscoting, new flooring and lights, this Needham half bathroom is getting a full overhaul as part of a 2-bathroom and laundry room renovation. For the purpose of this post,

Recently, one of our kitchen projects was selected as a highlight photo for an article written on Houzz.com. We are honored it was featured on such an important topic - COUNTERTOPS! In the article, titled "What Kitchen Countertop Color Should You Choose?" the author (and Principal Designer) Yanic Simard of Toronto Interior Design Group brings readers through a variety of considerations and color options when selecting a kitchen countertop. There are literally hundreds of options when it comes to countertops. Most options filter into a few main categories like: marble, granite, quartz or wood. Yanic breaks down of few popular options ranging from pure white with crisp and modern lines, to the warm tones of a wood top or a butcher block option. In addition to kitchen surfaces, the same principles apply with bathrooms or other spaces. The photo highlighted in the article is from our South Shore Kitchen

Cozy Farmhouse update

2020-11-19T16:04:55-05:00

PROJECT HIGHLIGHT - 1850 FARMHOUSE INTERIOR RENOVATIONS One of oldest homes we’ve had the pleasure to work on, this 1850 South Shore farmhouse, located in Middleboro, MA, needed some interior renovations after a water leak on the second floor. Not only did the water damage impact the two bedrooms on the second floor, but also the first floor guest room. After the homeowner shared his vision with us, we got to work bringing it to reality. What resulted are three unique spaces, designed and crafted with timeless appreciation. The two second floor bedrooms are identical in size - one located on each side of the staircase landing. Used as kid's bedrooms, we took advantage of the sloped ceilings and installed shiplap for fun character. The white paint brings a modern feel to an old space. Do you

Video Tour, Before and After Kitchen and 1st Floor Renovation

2020-08-28T16:56:48-04:00

Are you a visual person? Take a virtual tour with us as we documented the major milestones of this kitchen and 1st floor renovation project in West Bridgewater. We took a dark and "small" kitchen as the homeowners thought, and expanded the space to include their dream island and a custom breakfast nook. We even relocated a bathroom/laundry room to gain additional square footage. In the process, we added a closet next to the mudroom. We walk through each phase of the renovation - driven by the 5 design goals our team committed to achieving. We've included some design renderings as well as the before photos and video of these spaces. Plus some progress updates with an overview from our Owner and lead project designer and carpenter, Jason Hoffman. We even take you into our workshop as Jason created the custom breakfast nook benches. The photos, snapped by Tamara Flanagan
