A quick personal story on this July 4th 🇺🇸

We feel so fortunate to celebrate every July at our family’s favorite log cabin in NH’s White Mountains. This year, we’re especially reminded of the legacy of two incredible people, Megan’s Uncle Paul and Aunt Sharon. They built this home with love and dedication, creating a haven for our family to celebrate and make lasting memories.

Though Aunt Sharon left us in 2022 and Uncle Paul just this past March, their spirit of family, celebration, and pride in our country lives on through us. They exemplified what it means to invest selflessly and generously in those closest to them.

As we celebrate this Independence Day, we honor their memory and the traditions they started. May we all remember and celebrate the Uncle Pauls and Aunt Sharons in our lives, whose love and dedication shape our family bonds and patriotic spirit.

Our clients had been living with exposed pipes and rough framing from a previous renovation. We were so happy to design and build an elevated, luxury bathroom for them, featuring this custom double vanity, designed by Jason. Check out the drawers at the bottom! Jason designed functional, working drawers to offer more storage, instead of the standard faux drawer at the top of the cabinet.

How we created a more functional bathroom layout b

How we created a more functional bathroom layout by swapping the sink and shower locations.

In our latest #jphnewton83 project, we reimagined the bathroom layout to create a larger, luxury shower and accommodate a double vanity.

By swapping the sink and shower locations and eliminating the pre-existing tub, we unlocked the potential for a spacious, walk-in shower under the window. This strategic change also allowed us to reconfigure the entrance, borrowing a bit of space from the Primary Bedroom (see last photos). The result? A beautifully designed double vanity wall that meets the practical needs of our clients.

Happy Father’s Day to the hardest-working guys we know! Your creativity, tenacity, and positive attitudes, day in and day out, set an example not only for our kids but also for our clients and trade partners.

A quick personal story:

As seen in these photos, Jason spent the first part of Father’s Day weekend finishing yet another stone wall on our property. No, we’re not taking on masonry services—we’ll leave that to the professionals. But I include this here because I continue to be in awe of how much he challenges himself. Twelve years ago, he built a stone wall on our property. Although he respected the process, he said he would never do it again. Yet, a decade later, this is the fourth wall he’s built. He uses the materials already available on the property, never purchasing anything new, and applies an artist’s mind to create a natural border that defines our property line. Watching him work reminds me daily of the dedication and love he puts into everything he does.

To all the fathers on our team and beyond, thank you for your hard work and inspiration. Happy Father’s Day!

We transformed an outdated colonial kitchen into a

We transformed an outdated colonial kitchen into a stunning space with deep green cabinetry, complemented by black leathered quartzite countertops and a butcher block island. By relocating the sliding glass door, (see 2nd photos) we created additional wall space for the new cooktop. In addition, we removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room (3rd & 4th photos), installed new hardwood flooring throughout the first floor, as well as upgraded the trim and paint throughout the entire space. 🔪👩🏻‍🍳

Adding Basement Square Footage

We love when clients call us back for another renovation. A few years ago, we transformed almost every square inch of the main living spaces of this Cape-style home in Westwood, MA. This time, our clients asked us to finish their basement. As their family grew, they converted their second-floor home office into a nursery, leaving our homeowner working at the dining room table. We needed to find a new, more appropriate, and private workspace for a work-from-home client.

Our Design collaborator, Nicholas Preston of Preston Design, worked closely with J.P. Hoffman Design Build Owner and CEO, Jason Hoffman to create plans for an added: guest bedroom, bathroom, playroom, storage space, and office.

How we turned an underutilized space into a dream

How we turned an underutilized space into a dream kitchen by replacing a slider with windows.

Swipe to the last photo to see the former, tiny kitchen. The old layout couldn't even fit the refrigerator, which was placed in the back room. Through our Design Build process, we moved the kitchen to the underutilized dining room, reducing two sliding doors to one and replacing the other with windows. This change created a wall for a spacious kitchen layout, housing double ovens, a refrigerator, sink, stove, and ample storage. Plus, a beautiful island and pantry cabinets complete this dream kitchen. 🌟✨

🚿✨ Statement tile for the win! We expanded the shower footprint of this Primary Bathroom remodel in Westwood & added bold, navy blue, glass statement tile. The small pre-existing shower layout left a lot to be desired. We relocated the linen closet to the neighboring sitting room and created a much larger and more comfortable shower footprint.
