For basement projects, we’re big believers in starting with the right subfloor system. This product has a rigid core with drainage channels underneath and interlocking 2x2 panels that float over the concrete slab.

Once moisture issues are addressed upfront, this creates a stronger, more reliable substrate for the finished flooring, whether that’s LVP, carpet, or even hardwood.

Before, this kitchen and dining area felt dark, sm

Before, this kitchen and dining area felt dark, small, and closed off from the rest of the home.

The homeowners had already renovated other areas, so this space no longer matched the elevated look and feel they had created throughout the house. They wanted the kitchen to feel just as thoughtful, finished, and connected.

We opened up the layout, brought in more natural light, and created better flow between the kitchen, dining area, and backyard. Since the sink already had a great location beneath the window, we kept it in place and focused on making smart changes where they mattered most, including a 12-foot slider that connects directly to the existing deck.

The result is a bright, welcoming L-shaped kitchen with a large island for prepping, gathering, and entertaining. The pantry brings in the same white oak accents used throughout the kitchen, so whether the doors are open or closed, it feels like an intentional part of the room.

Renovation work can be disruptive, but the process shouldn’t take over your whole home.

In most projects, our clients are still living in the house while the work is underway, so we take that seriously. Our team plans ahead to keep the renovation as contained and unobtrusive as possible, from closing off the work area to help control dust to keeping the space organized and tidy throughout the process.

For this guest bathroom update, the goal was to make a smaller space feel more open, polished, and functional.

The new shower brings a clean, elevated feel to the room, while recessed cabinetry helps optimize storage without taking up valuable floor space. Comparing the 3D renderings to the final bathroom shows how thoughtful planning helps every detail come together before construction begins.

Every inch matters, especially in a basement.

Under the stairs was one of the few spaces in this farmhouse basement that wasn’t taken up by another staircase, so we knew it needed to work a little harder.

Instead of leaving it unused, we turned it into a custom whiteboard wall for games, notes, and everyday creativity. Then, to make the most of the storage opportunity, we added built-in drawers below with a clean, push-to-open design and no visible hardware.

The result is playful, practical, and streamlined, exactly what a well-designed family space should be.

This primary bathroom was all about making a compact space feel more open, comfortable, and functional.

By bumping out the wall, we were able to expand the footprint and create room for a walk-in shower with a built-in bench, a double vanity, and additional wood cabinetry for storage. A pocket door also helped maximize the layout, giving the homeowners more usable space without adding visual clutter.

The result is a bathroom that feels calm, thoughtful, and beautifully tailored to everyday living.

Smaller living spaces can still feel layered, personal, and beautifully complete.

For this condo renovation, every room was designed to make the most of the home’s footprint while bringing in details that feel warm, polished, and custom.

In the kitchen, crisp white cabinetry, a navy island, brass hardware, and a tailored hood create a bright, timeless space with just the right amount of contrast.

The bathroom feels calm and elevated with a double vanity, soft finishes, and a glass shower that keeps the room feeling open.

The open dining area flows naturally into the living space, where large windows fill the room with light and make the condo feel bright, airy, and connected.

One of our favorite details is the picture frame moulding that adds subtle architecture and character without overwhelming the area. It’s a quiet design choice, but it brings so much depth to the space.

A sink next to the washer and dryer gives you a practical spot for soaking, rinsing, hand-washing, and handling the little messes that come with real life. The countertop above the machines adds space for folding and sorting right away, so clean clothes are less likely to sit in the basket for days.

It’s a small shift in layout, but it makes the whole room work harder and keeps everyday routines feeling a little more manageable.

As another Fourth of July weekend arrives, we’re r

As another Fourth of July weekend arrives, we’re reminded that some of life’s greatest moments aren’t found in grand celebrations, but in the traditions we return to year after year.

For our family, that’s spending time in the White Mountains of North Conway, a place Megan’s family has visited since the 90’s. Long before that, it was where her dad traded the pace of city life for the mountains, hiking trails, and fresh air. It’s also where he hiked Mt. Washington in November (not exactly recommended!) and hitchhiked his way around in the 1970s (also not something we’d recommend today!). Those stories have become part of our family’s history and are passed down with a smile each time we return.

Whether it’s gathering with family, spending time by the river, grilling in the backyard, watching fireworks, or simply slowing down for a few days, these are the moments that become the memories we carry with us for years to come.

This Newton bathroom may be small, but every detail was designed to make the space work harder and feel more elevated.

Jason and Megan Hoffman transformed the 43-square-foot bath by removing the dated tub-shower combo, gaining a few extra square feet from an adjoining bedroom, and creating room for a double vanity, larger shower, and improved storage.

Proof that even the smallest spaces can feel thoughtful, polished, and surprisingly spacious with the right design approach.
