We replaced the floor-to-ceiling wall that separated the sinks with a half wall, opening up the space and allowing natural light from the skylight to shine through. Not seen under that skylight? A stackable washer and dryer—checking off a major goal for our clients.

It’s a big week at our kitchen and bathroom renovation project!

✔ Hardwood floors installed
✔ Flooring finish process (Timing can vary based on natural vs. stained finish and water-based vs. oil-based polyurethane—but don’t worry, we guide you through the options!)
✔ Polyurethane applied and cured (In this case, completed in just a few days)
✔ Floor protection added (To keep those new floors safe during the next phase)
✔ Kitchen cabinet installation started

As I look at my own planters in need of a refresh, I can’t help but admire the beautiful ones that complete our clients’ finished front steps. This shot is a favorite—not just for the planters, but for the new garage stonework. Designed to blend seamlessly, it’s a perfect example of how thoughtful craftsmanship creates a timeless look from day one.

Would you believe this built-in cabinet didn’t exist before?

Scroll to photo #3 to see where we started—a flat wall with no storage. This small guest bathroom lacked both a linen cabinet and vanity storage. Through our design process, we found an opportunity to reconfigure the closet in the neighboring guest bedroom, making space for a built-in linen cabinet in the bathroom.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but board and plaster week is one of my favorites!

Week 4 is all about hanging board, plastering, and allowing time to cure. It’s not the most exciting step, but it’s the first time since pre-demo that we see the new walls take shape. It’s the turning point that signals the start of the fun finishes—flooring, cabinets, counters, and more!

What’s Happening This Week?
✔ Hanging board – the foundation for smooth, finished walls.
✔ Plastering – creating a seamless surface, ready for paint and tile.
✔ Cure time – allowing everything to dry properly before moving forward.

✔ Rough inspections – four inspections must be passed before we can close up walls. This step takes time as we coordinate with town or city inspectors.
