Kitchen with Hidden Scullery

This late-1990s home had plenty of square footage, but the layout didn’t support how the family actually lived. The kitchen was undersized for a 4,500-square-foot home, while adjacent formal dining and sitting rooms sat largely unused and undefined, never truly becoming functional spaces.

The renovation reimagined these areas as one cohesive, open kitchen designed for cooking, gathering, and entertaining. A 10-foot walnut-stained island anchors the space, paired with chef-grade appliances, dual sinks for multiple cooks, a statement glass-front curio cabinet, and a large window framing backyard views. A dedicated scullery adds valuable prep and pantry storage, keeping the main kitchen clean and organized.

A nearby mudroom and small office were also reconfigured into a more efficient mudroom and laundry space with improved storage and everyday drop zones. The result is a warm, connected main level where the kitchen flows naturally into an elevated dining area, creating a true centerpiece for daily living and entertaining.
