Classic Cohasset – Bathroom Remodels

This is part two of our Whole-Home Cohasset renovation. It’s safe to say our team remodeled almost every square inch of this home. As seen from the kitchen and living room remodel the classic New England, coastal theme continued into the home’s two other bathrooms. We discussed the powder room here but the Primary Bathroom and Guest Bathroom also received a complete makeover. The existing Primary Bathroom housed a separate tub that the homeowner expressed never planning to use. Through our Design Build process, we capitalized on an opportunity – to use the valuable space once taken up by the tub, to expand the shower footprint, creating a luxury walk-in shower. Plus, there was even left over space to add a stackable washer/dryer unit. This move, freed up an entire room adjacent to the kitchen – allowing us to repurpose that space – to enlarge the kitchen. The washer/dryer unit is now hidden behind a wall in the primary bathroom – out of site!

The upstairs of this home, holds a loft space the homeowner’s now use as an office. There are two guest bedrooms, perfect for the couple’s adult children and grandkids when they visit. Formerly, each guest room had it’s own bathroom, or at least a toilet. But we’re pretty sure one of the bathrooms was an illegal addon somewhere in the 80s as it was tucked in a corner of the bedroom. It was creepy and unusable. We patched that in, creating a cohesive and larger guest room (see photo below with black bed frame). Instead, we re-located the closet in the other bedroom, creating a new hallway for the shared bathroom. By re-locating the closet, we added a new door and essentially created a new layout to the bedroom – allowing common use of the bathroom for both guest rooms. The bathroom’s light walls and floor, pave the way for a subtle, yet impressive pale blue vanity. But the showstopper in this guest bathroom is the unique tile in the tub/shower. We wanted something fun and unique, working around an odd ceiling and just your standard guest bathroom. The vertical, bright blue accent tile allows for a pop of fun for this coastal bathroom – right down the street from the beach.
