At J.P. Hoffman Design Build, we feel it’s critical to know, understand and trust the team renovating your home. Here, we introduce Owner, President and CEO Jason Hoffman. Jason’s career has evolved over time. He became a business owner in 2004. His passion for quality work, refining the craft and family happiness is evident in everything he does. Read below to learn about Jason’s background and how he built a growing, sought-after Design Build firm servicing communities south of Boston and along the South Shore of Massachusetts.

Framer to Foreman

Now with over 25 years’ experience building and renovating homes, Jason started his career working for other contractors. This was after four years of vocational training which, included furniture building and architectural drafting. As a framing carpenter for new home construction, Jason’s passion for learning allowed him quickly to jump ranks to foreman at only age 19. He later moved to a different company and found himself working alongside architects on historic restoration projects. It is here that he discovered a love and respect for the older homes, including the materials and craftsmanship that went into renovating them. His desire to work directly with clients, helping them achieve their home goals, led him to start J.P. Hoffman General Carpentry in 2004.

Passionate about the restoration

In the beginning, the company focused mostly on new home modular builds and other custom projects. After restoring his own 1882 farmhouse, Jason’s passion for conserving older homes grew, as did his interest in historic residential architecture.

Expanding to in-house Design

In both older and newer homes, it was obvious to homeowners that Jason had an eye for designing spaces. His thoroughness, immense knowledge of his craft and creative problem-solving abilities produced many design inquiries from homeowners. Clients hired Jason, then and now to draw plans for various renovation services. Including kitchen and bathroom remodels, additions, as well as finished basements, porches, decks, historical restorations and more. His vision is greatly appreciated by Owners looking for professional and honest opinions. Jason brings his creativity, integrity and immense building knowledge into every project, starting with the Design phase.

The company has since evolved into J.P. Hoffman Design Build Inc. to meet this popular demand. Jason enjoys the challenge of helping homeowners optimize the space they already have, thoughtfully and seamlessly. As both in-house Designer AND Master Carpenter, Jason works directly with clients from Initial Consultation to Scope Development, and through the Final Walk-Through. He brings in his team to work together with homeowners on every decision. This includes fixture selection and project scheduling. Homeowners trust the customer service they receive from Jason’s team and welcome our staff as extended family members. See more about Design Build here.
